Who doesn't want an easy lightweight sweater to knit? I know I love light and airy projects during the winter months, especially if it's a piece I can also use as a layer in the evenings.
And to save the day when it comes to comfort, enter Knit Picks Comfy Cotton. It's the perfect summer knit yarn. This fingering weight yarn comes in so many color options, from pastels to bolds.
The fingering weight yarn makes this a great project for on the go. It's not going to weigh down your knit travel bag. Plus this project is created as one piece! Yep, there aren't a lot of pieces to deal with, the knit construction creates a solid fabric. The only seaming is across the arms and down the sides, so easy peasy.
Are you afraid to try a knit garment pattern? Don't sweat it! I've got a knit video tutorial below to help guide you through the important steps. This is a free knit sweater pattern but you can also purchase the easy on-the-go printable with the purchase buttons above.

This lace knit summer top is worked flat and then seamed down the arms and sides. Then ribbing is done in the round for the neck and sleeve cuffs.
Special Stitches:
The sl1-k2tog-psso (slip one, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over) is a left slanted decrease that decreases two stitches.
Slip one stitch as if to knit. Knit the next 2 stitches together. Insert left needle into the front of slipped stitch on the right needle. Pass the slipped stitch over the k2tog stitch and off the right needle. This completes the sl1-k2tog-psso decrease. For a video tutorial below.

Repeats | Continuing in the est. st pattern, work across all stitches on needles until there are a total of 40 (44, 48, 48, 52) (52 56, 60, 60) arm rows past the neck opening. |
